Annona

ATEMOIA
(Annona squamosa L. x Annona cherimola Mill)

The flesh is fragrant and sweet, creamy white through light yellow its seeds forming individual segments arranged in a single layer around a conical core.

It is soft, slightly grainy, and slippery. The seeds are hard, shiny and have a brown to black coat.

The first small plantations in Brasil started in the early 60's. It's a new fruit yet, but becoming very popular year after year. It has been making a lot of success in several european countries and North America.

It's very appreciated when eaten raw, but it can also be used in juices and many recipes. Tropical exports this fruit with weights varying from 400gr to 800gr. per fruit.
